Everything Changes
The debut full-length album from Jazzie Young coming 2025
Airy and atmospheric, Jazzie Young's music mixes confessional folk songwriting with the modern hooks of indie-pop to create a unique and richly textured sound. Writing her very first song at age 14, Young’s songwriting inspirations began with her father Jesse Colin Young, legendary folk singer and frontman of 1960s rock band, The Youngbloods. Her solo music represents something beyond an opportunity to carry on the family business; it gives Jazzie a chance to make sense of the world around her.
Now based in Los Angeles, California, Young is ready to release her debut full-length album, Everything Changes. The 10-track record explores the emotional complexity of growth and love, and the constant changing state our lives take. There can be comfort in change, but despair as well.
“When life is in a season of hardship, the idea that things will and can change is a beacon of hope. That inevitable ebb and flow of emotions and connections is at the heart of this album,” Young explains. “Feelings are fleeting yet constant. We grow and evolve within ourselves and our connections and life is forever moving, never staying in one state for too long.”
The album blends genres of pop and folk, but stays true to Young's intimate and honest lyricism, using dreamy production styles to tie all the tracks together. Notable collaborations for the album include production by John Velasquez (Vacations, Zella Day, Broods, Ella Vox) and a co-write with Daywave (Jackson Phillips). The first single, “Lux”, is set to release October 2024 with subsequent singles waterfalling to the full album release in 2025.
